My name is Steve Carroll, I’ve been fishing since I could hold a pole. I’ve been guiding since 1980. I started in the Gulf of Mexico in Northwest Florida then moved to Texas and began live bait fishing for Stripers and Hybrids. I’ve been guiding in Oklahoma since 1999. I enjoy meeting new people who are interested in fishing or learning more about fishing.

My name is Brian Barber and I originally grew up in the piney woods of east Texas around Gladewater, where I started fishing with my father and grandfather at the age of three. Hunting and fishing of course was not just a hobby, but part of our family tradition and culture. I spent almost every…

Hiring a professional guide several times a year costs much less than owning, maintaining, operating, and insuring your own boat. It also assures you and your party a safe and enjoyable experience. All you have to do is meet the boat at the designated time and place. We will furnish all life jackets, rods, reels, tackle and bait. We will find the fish and help you catch them. We welcome kids and adults.

These projects are also eligible for Federal matching funds. So when the project is put forward for funding the Feds match the donations at a rate of 3 to…

If the measure of the success on a fishing trip is the number of fish caught, the past two days on Skiatook don’t rate very high. Two days of fishing hard and running all over the lake yielded one Hybrid. I’ve contacted my clients for the next few days and asked them to consider rescheduling…

The Hybrid bite just never materialized on Wednesday. We ran all over the lake looking for active fish, but we never found them. It turned out that my clients wanted Blues more than Hybrids anyway so that was a good thing. We ended up cleaning 20 Blues and one lonely Hybrid.

We had both boats out on Tuesday for a big family outing. We’ve been having trouble getting this scheduled but finally got out on the water. I wish we would have caught more fish but it’s that time of year.
