Winter and early springtime is the perfect time for snagging some of the biggest freshwater fish in Oklahoma. I normally fish the Chouteau Bend area of Ft. Gibson for these fish.
I furnish all the tackle needed for snagging, but I don’t clean the fish. I prefer that we catch and release but if you want to keep a fish you can do so. You’ll need a Paddlefish Permit (free) from the Wildlife Department to go snagging.
You can keep one fish per person per day. Monday and Fridays are Catch and Release only statewide. My fee for Snagging trips is $300 for two people and $50 for each additional angler.
That is for a six hour trip.
